Smart Meters

We are currently promoting the benefits of having a smart meter for your energy.

  • Smart meters are free to install, safe and secure. Contact your supplier to arrange an easy installation.

  • You won’t receive estimated bills anymore and they can help you budget your money.

  • You don’t need to have WiFi at home to have one.

  • A smart meter only sends meter readings to your supplier and you can choose how often they are sent. It can’t know what appliance you are using and when.

  • If you have a prepayment meter you can still get a smart meter.

  • You will get an in-home display unit (IHD) to see how much energy you are using and more. It can show you the amount of credit you have left (if you are on a prepayment meter) and ways to easily contact your supplier.

  • People who may need one, can also get an accessible in-home display unit which has easier controls and can also talk you through the options.

As the cost of living crisis continues, it’s a good idea to think about ways you could save energy.

We never advise people to stop heating their home. It’s important to think about your physical and mental health and keep your home warm enough so you don’t become ill.
